Privacy Policy for Piton

Last updated: 11 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Piton ("the app", "we", "us") handles your information. Piton is a focus and app‑blocking tool that helps you reduce distractions by locking apps, blocking websites, and setting usage limits and schedules. Piton is published by [YOUR LEGAL NAME / ENTITY — e.g. Clarix]. By using Piton you agree to this policy.

Short version: Almost everything Piton does happens on your device. The lists of apps you block, your usage times, your schedules, and the website addresses Piton checks are processed locally and are not collected by us or sent to any server. The only information that leaves your device is your account identity when you choose to sign in with Google (handled by Google Firebase), so we can secure your account. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

1. Information processed only on your device (not collected by us)

The following data is used locally on your device to make the app work. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party, and we cannot see it:

2. Information we collect when you sign in

Piton offers optional sign‑in with Google, provided through Google Firebase Authentication. If you sign in, we receive and store, via Firebase, a limited set of account information:

We use this only to create and secure your account and to keep you signed in. This data is stored on Google Firebase servers on our behalf. If you never sign in, we do not collect this information.

3. Permissions Piton requests and why

4. How we use information

On‑device data is used only to provide the app's blocking, limiting, and scheduling features. Account information is used only to authenticate you and maintain your account. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or resale, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

5. Sharing and third parties

We do not share your personal information except with the service that makes sign‑in work:

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, but we have no access to the on‑device data described in Section 1.

6. Data retention and deletion

On‑device data stays on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall Piton. Account information is retained while your account exists. You can delete your account and associated authentication data by signing out and requesting deletion — contact us at the email below, or use the in‑app account option where available, and we will delete your Firebase account record. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

7. Security

Account data handled by Firebase is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and protected by Google's infrastructure. On‑device data is protected by Android's app sandbox. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Children

Piton is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. Because most data is on your device, you can also exercise many of these rights directly by changing settings or uninstalling the app.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
